Why AI Written Content is Costing Therapists Clients

As a therapist, you know AI can’t replace therapy, .

You’ve seen the conversations being had on major new articles covering Chat GBT, and… .

yet you're still using ChatGPT to make your content for you.

If you wouldn’t use AI in your therapy practice to HELP your clients… how would the same AI be able to create content to SPEAK AND UNDERSTAND that same audience?

Let’s look at the facts here. AI can not FEEL emotion. So, with this in mind, How could chat GBT put into words effectively (give feedback/ be a therapist) if it doesn’t feel emotion, to make someone looking to work with you say, “yes, this is the person who will get me. I want to work with them”

Yes, Chat GBT can be useful in making lists, or creating an outline to spark some content ideas. BUT, without the lived experiences a human being has- a trained LCSW, LCP, or LMFT has in their respective field, having worked first hand with clients, and has the ability to do things like empathize, AI cannot replace something they cannot achieve, comprehend, or recognize.

The reason AI is so harmful to those using it as a “therapist” is the SAME reason it is hurting your marketing- it does not have the capacity to think, act, or BE a human. A human with human emotion.

, you may be thinking, “well I used Chat GBT to create my post and it did sound a lot like me”

While it has the ability to mimic you because it has access to an endless database of information on topics you’ve spent years learning in your Masters programs, it does not have the ability to specify.

Content that sounds “good” and comes off informative is handy, but it lacks the emotional draw that builds trusting connection between YOU and your ideal client.

I can tell when a therapist uses AI to create content because the content always lacks the explicit details that go beyond “sounding professional” and bridges that gap to really empathize and speak to your audience. Let me give you an example.

This is a piece of AI written content:

“trauma doesn’t just “go away” with time — it shows up in your daily life until it’s healed.”

Now, that sounds like something someone seeking therapy might even believe in real life. What this hook lacks other than empathy- because WTF is this… there is no connection.

This posts says “maybe you’re right” and not “HOLY F this is me, I definitely need to work on this”

Why? Because no one can specifically see themselves in this post. There is no depth or understanding on a HUMAN level. It's not personal, over generalizes and loses the potency of what you mean.

Instead: your content should speak so deeply to your ideal client, that they feel like you literally made it with them in mind.

Like: “You’ve been sitting in your thoughts every night, losing sleep, and wondering ‘does it ever get better’ and until you do X and start your healing journey, Y will happen” This is gives us specific details that your audience can relate to and see themselves in and understand WHY they need to change what they’re doing now to get where they want to be.

Chat GBT is not a replacement for therapy. AI is not a replacement for marketing. Especially for therapists who work with individuals/couples on their healing journey.

Using these systems as a way to articulate what you want to say r is actually costing you MORE because it enables and harms those who unknowingly rely on it’s capabilities as it can dilute your unique voice, misrepresent your expertise, and make it harder to build the authentic trust that attracts the right clients.

This is why I teach my clients to use their experiences, voice, and expertise to create content that speaks to their audience on a HUMAN level that AI cannot. And when you know how to speak to your ideal client in a way that speaks to them so deeply, you build that layer of trust needed to work with YOU and see you as the go-to expert to help them in their healing journey.
