When you read this, I’ll be out relaxing. How? Let’s get back into the topic of preparation. One thing that has come in handy as a VA is the prep. Like a good chef ( as I am ) you gotta prep the veggies before you get to cooking or you are in for a bit of a struggle.

What I do to prep my work varies in nature. For my own social media; I batch content, schedule posts, and write my blogs in advance. If you just thought, “what is batching content” let me explain. Batching content is making the content ahead of time, so you are not panicking on what to post and when. Another important aspect to batching content is your scheduling times. Do some research on what times get the most traction, and what kind of content does best on your page. That will set you up for what and when to post. My work ethic relies on organization and structure. So, in order to get the optimal results.. I have to do the optimal amount of work. In other words; work smarter not harder. Being optimal is not equivalent to doing too much. Let’s not get those confused.

You also want to plan things in advance so tasks are not piling up. A great way to get ahead of the mess and clutter is to clean and organize as you go. Spread out your work load evenly like you spread out your cream cheese on your bagel. Consistency is key, and you are locking yourself out of achieving your goals if you think you can do things without a system in place.

Preventing burnout and overextension can be made a breeze if you are willing to put in the effort from the beginning. Don’t wait to implement a system once you get clients or things pick up, because then you will be juggling the whole circus rather than a couple of balls.

What are some things you do to keep yourself organized?
